Extra-Curricular

Number work:

We have a meaningful program for ‘pre number’ concepts, number usage and practical application of initial number concepts. The Maths program allows for hands-on exploration, active investigation etc.

Language Art:

Our aim is to develop pre-reading and reading skills, oral language competency and enhance listening and oral communication skills.

Creative Art:

The activity of drawing, painting and creating objects teaches children important and new ways of thinking, creating and communicating with images as well as words. Therefore, in ‘Parigyan’, great emphasis is given to art and craft by spending minimum one hour a week.

Library:

Students are encouraged to develop reading habits by reading stories to them in Nursery and Kindergarten classes. Children are issued with one book every week end for home reading with parents. The book is to be returned on Monday. Students may choose to participate in a special ‘library purchase’ program by being ‘proud sponsor’ of books. A special dedication sticker will be attached to the book recognizing the donation and a picture of the child will be taken as a part of permanent display.

Books:

We provide all the books and stationary for all the children. Books are to be covered properly with brown paper and labelling would be done in the school. The books will be kept in the school.

Field trips:

Going to places and exploring are vital components of an early learning process. Children will be taken to the nearby parks, vegetable market, aquariums, places of worship, petrol pump etc. once in a month as part of the curriculum starting from the month of August. Parents would be informed about the trip well in advance. As these trips are not compulsory, parents have the option to decide whether to send the child or not.

Cultural Activity:

We celebrate all the religious and National festivals. It is not compulsory to send your child for these celebrations.

Motor Activities:

It is necessary to reinforce skills such as eye-hand coordination, rhythm and manual dexterity that is necessary to colour, draw and write. A perpetual motor program with a series of movement sessions focus on stimulating the sensory motor system and integrating it helps the child’s brain to sort, organize and put materials together.
